Recently, I have had some discussions with folks about the lyrics and/or meaning of my original songs. This gave me the idea to post them on this site. That way, if you are so inclined, you can take a read through them. Some of the lyrics are based on real things and others are no more than surrealism. This reality/imagery blend often occurs within the same song. I would love to know what you think, and what interpretation you take from them...

Please click on a song title to reach that particular song.

And many thanks to Carl Ristaino for granting me permission to use his great piece on the header for this page.

In the near future, I also plan to post some other non-lyrics writings - until then…
Peace,

Glenn

Until Then

(music/lyrics by Glenn Curtis Bouchard)

Looking for a rhyme and reason…searching for a face in the crowd
Don’t know how thoughts unspoken…could ever ever be so loud
Looking in the mirrors reflection…not really liking what I see
Well there ain’t no use pretending…that the image isn’t me

But I’m trying to find a way out…from these walls that are caving in
Won’t someone rescue me…rescue me from my sins
Although inside I’m dying…I’m gonna keep on tryin’, but
Until then…I’m gonna keep on
Lyin’…gonna keep on lyin’ to myself
Lyin’…I ain’t foolin’ no one else…oh I’m not fooling noone else

Looking in the mirrors reflection…finally recognizing what I see
That hollow shell is gone now…and what is there resembles me

Still have more questions than answers…and some will never be resolved
For all the lies presented, you will never be absolved

I finally found a way out…from these walls that were caving in
Thank god you rescued me…rescued me from my sins
Although I’m barely breathin’…I finally started feelin’, but…
Until then…I’m gonna keep on
Lyin’…gonna keep on lyin’ to myself

Lyin’…I ain’t foolin’ no one else…oh I’m not fooling noone else

Multiplicities (Living in a Daydream)
(music/lyrics by Glenn Curtis Bouchard)

Multiplicities, oh yeah shaded tones
The storyline is altered now, yet the meaning flows
Did you find some comfort there…did you buy some time?
To resolve the conflicts in your mind

And it shows it shows…tomorrow never knows
Uncertainties…but you’ll find me

Livin’ in a daydream…reality shatters the light
Livin’ in a daydream…reality shatters the light
Livin’ in a daydream

The ground is still frozen…and icicles hang down
Yeah we share one thing in common there…we all come crashing down
The offer presents itself…but I kindly will refuse
What’s the gamble here?…nothing to win and everything, everything to lose

Do we ever choose…are we really free?
Take a look around…and you’ll find me

Livin’ in a daydream…reality shatters the light
Livin’ in a daydream…reality shatters the light
Livin’ in a daydream

Well as the candle slowly flickers, in a ring around that moon
Yes I often wonder, did I give up to…(soon)

Don’t Know What Love Is
(music/lyrics by Glenn Curtis Bouchard)

Soulless man never seem to sleep at night
Sleepless people never seem to keep their soul
We don’t seem to care if they’re near or far
It’s a shame they don’t know the secrets of our game

They don’t know what love is
They don’t know what love is
They don’t know what love is

Frozen thoughts never seem to fade
Faded thoughts seldom seem to stay
We don’t seem to see the look on their face
It’s a shame they don’t know the secrets of our game

They don’t know what love is
They don’t know what love is
They don’t know what love is

Broken hearts never seem to heal
Mended hearts rarely seem to feel
We don’t seem to see the look on their face
It’s a shame they don’t know the secrets of our game

They don’t know what love is…don’t know what your love is
They don’t know what love is…don’t know what your love is
They don’t know what love is…don’t know what your love is

Eucalyptus Dream
(music/lyrics by Glenn Curtis Bouchard)

Eucalyptus, eucalyptus dream
In the middle stuck somewhere in between
All I see now is just static green
Won’t you see me, see me in my dream?

Listenin’ for that secret
Searchin for that sound
Take the golden road downtown
You’re always lost now but you’re always found…oh yeah I remember now

Eucalyptus, eucalyptus dream
In the middle stuck somewhere in between
All I see know is just static green
Won’t you see me, see me in my dream?

Never Meant
(music by Glenn Curtis Bouchard - lyrics by Glenn Curtis Bouchard / Mino Valdez)
Have you read those headlines today?
Another little boy left his momma cryin’

I guess she never has done those things
She always meant to, she always meant to

My friend phoned just an hour ago and said
“Well she’s left me this time…for good”
I guess he never said those things
He always meant to, he always meant to

You’ve got to give your heart…well if you want it to be heard
And there will be those times…when you scream and you can’t hear a thing
You’ve got to give your heart…if you want it to be heard
And there will be those times
Those things…never meant
Those things…never meant
Those things…never meant

My love wrote and told me
“Your heart is too forgiving…”
Well I guess we gotta just do what we feel…what we feel
She said “Oh my father, why do you do the things you do”
“I really want to know why…I guess you’ll try”

You’ve got to give your heart…well if you want it to be heard
And there will be those times…when you scream and you can’t hear a thing
You’ve got to give your heart…if you want it to be heard
And there will be those times
Those things…never meant

Child of the Crystal Skies
(music by Glenn Curtis Bouchard - lyrics by Glenn Curtis Bouchard / Natalie Hegg)

Come along sweet child and walk with me
Under the crystal skies
Let me smile at you as you lie
Shower me with long lashes…and you laugh

And this is the only way, to see you my love
Under these very stars you were born
And this is the only way, to see you my love
Under the very stars you were born

Come along sweet child embrace our souls
With the arms of tomorrow
What tomorrow will bring
What tomorrow will bring

And this is the only way, to see you my love
Under these very stars you were born
And this is the only way, to see you my love
Under the very stars you were born

Come with me…sweet child of the crystal skies
Come with me…sweet child of the crystal skies
Come with me…sweet child
Come with me…come with me...come with me…sweet child oh
Come with me…come with me...come with me…sweet child oh
Come with me…sweet child

Hello

(music/lyrics by Glenn Curtis Bouchard)

Well I saw you across that room now
With your long brown hair
And those beautiful colors and that aqua-blue stare
It was becoming so apparent that I was feeling so transparent
But suddenly you turned and walked towards me…

Should I run away and hide?
Or stare deep in your eyes?
I decided to stay now…

We shared some wine and some conversation
The whole world your destination
Oh won’t you share it all with me?
Take my hand and we’ll travel cross the continents
Exploring loves deep resonance
Who says you ever need to settle down?

Growing gracefully with time
I offer you my body, soul, and mind
They’re yours for the taking…

Well I saw you across that room now
With your long brown hair
And those beautiful colors and that aqua-blue stare
It was becoming so apparent that I was feeling so transparent
But suddenly you turned and walked towards me…

Oh thank god I didn’t run away
I’m thankful for this each and every day
Our lives together…
Class D

(music/lyrics by Glenn Curtis Bouchard)

Chillin’ on the back porch with some friends of mine
Tryin’ to find new ways to…blow our minds
When all of a sudden from the corner of my eye
I saw the rays and a flash of light

Oh my god now, should I turn and run?
They said “who’s got what and what’s your name son”?
They said “you ain’t nothin’ but a bunch of clowns”
They cuffed my buddy and they…took him downtown

Class D…I hope its not a felony
Class D….oh what they gonna do with me

I thought I was existing in the USA
Didn’t think I was livin’ in a…police state
You want respect but you don’t show me none
Besides that you ruin…all our fun

Class D…I hope its not a felony
Class D….oh what they gonna do with me

Whatever happened to happiness…life, and liberty?
I’m getting’ a sneaky suspicion that…we’re not really free
Who are these “leaders” trying to squash our rights?
I ain’t going down with…without a fight

Class D…I hope its not a felony
Class D….oh what they gonna do with me

Sunbeams
(music/lyrics by Glenn Curtis Bouchard)

Another cool morning…I see the sunbeams
Piercing through the hazy sky
These rays of light shine down on me from the heavens
Can I understand their splendor?…oh yes I’ll try…

How long did it take for them to get here?
Is their pattern just an illusion in my mind?
Is there a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow?
Or just another fairy tale gone awry

I wanna reach out and feel the sunbeams…I wanna reach out and touch the sky
Feel the warmth illuminate my soul…bring some peace unto my mind

I feel like I’ve known you forever…every time your hand touches mine
Although we live in a world of darkness…you’ll always be my guiding light
I believe you and I were meant to be…you’re the reason the sun still shines
Although you may not know exactly where you’re going, please don’t leave
me too far behind

I wanna reach out and feel your heartbeat…I wanna feel your sun shine
Feel your warmth illuminate my soul…bring some solace to my mind

Although I still can’t comprehend everything ‘bout a sunbeam
I do understand the beauty that is you
Your love radiates brighter than the strongest sun
I cherish the person that is you
